This is a beautiful story. The people of Book-It Theatre found a way to make theatre despite the company closing, and it is wonderful to hear how they were supported and helped by fellow theatre makers. Theaters like Book-It that are adapting and creating new works for the stage are so important to the survival of the art form. Especially after COVID, I think it is important that theaters help each other, because I do believe that the success of one theater strengthens the others. Additionally, I love how their plan is to just make theatre however they can, and how they seem to really be driven by the community. I think that’s what this art form is all about, making theatre by making do and making it for a community. I wish Book-It Theatre great success with their future, and I hope they can keep on creating for years to come.
