See How Disney Imagineering Made Audio Animatronics for Tiana's Bayou Adventure
a href="https://gizmodo.com/disney-imagineering-animatronics-tianas-bayou-adventure-1851391177">gizmodo.com: io9 went on a tour of Walt Disney Imagineering at the Glendale, CA creative campus, where all the Disney Parks magic comes to life. While we weren’t able to take photos of the work in progress you’ll soon see on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World and Disneyland, Imagineering has released images and videos of what we saw while being guided by Ted Robledo, the executive creative director on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, who shared insight on the making on the upcoming attraction.

This is a really big coincidence, because my dad was just telling me about his most recent tour of the Imagineering building in California last week. The idea of audio animatronics is so incredibly interesting to me, and I would love to manage the development process of them at any point in my career. My love of Disney has always been something very present in my life, especially living in Orlando, and I cannot wait to ride this new ride when it comes to the parks. Something I thought was especially funny was in the images of these animatronics, there are even hidden Mickeys in the parts that guests won't view. It's those small touches that make Disney Magic so special. Something I am really looking forward to is seeing what new characters they introduce on the ride, and which old loved ones they bring back. Tiana's animatronic looks especially cool and very realistic.
To begin with, something slightly unrelated, but the website is a bit difficult to maneuver, but hey, I made it. I keep seeing videos of the testing of this ride on instagram, and the animatronics look so much better than other rides like Ariel's Undersea Adventure, or it’s a small world. I know there’s so much work that goes on into making a ride for Disney, from making the ride itself, to designing everything that goes around it and masking, and I would absolutely LOVE it if I could get to work on one, or even shadow them while they work on a part of it because I feel like I would learn so much. The amount of unique characters they are adding is astonishing, because I feel like especially with the animals, its so much harder to capture their movements, and make them seem realistic to us on the rides, but Disney always makes it work, and I really hope I can visit and go on the ride once it opens!
Every Disney nerd, who opens up, Instagram is going to see all of the updates that get announced on the progress of the Tiana’s Bay adventure ride! With recent ride tests, adding music, and the multiple videos put out by Disney to showcase the imagers, hard work with their animatronics it’s hard to not get excited about what this riot is going to look like with its new fresh coat of paint! Personally, I’ve always been a little bit hesitant on this particular retheme of the ride. I found that in the parks, I don’t really enjoy the “princess rides” so much, And I have been really worried That this retheme of splash Mountain would fall into that category. However, Disney is taken some specific approaches that I appreciate. First of all, it’s not just rehash of the movie, it is a new storyline. Secondly, many of the aesthetics of the ride could be very similar, but in the beautiful styling of the princess and the frog movie. And third, splash mountain will retain its splash! Which is, of course, the most important part! The animatronics, the Disney is showcasing in this ride look like they are going to be beautiful, and I can’t wait to see them in action!
