nofilmschool.com: There are so many camera movements and camera angles; it can be hard to keep track. But how can you know if you’re hitting all the basics without a comprehensive checklist of camera angles and shots?

I’ve done a couple unprofessional film shoots, but since they were all with film students, they use technical terminology a lot, and over time, you start picking up on them and getting used to them. Having this would definitely be useful, especially with equipment and certain camera shots, such as the dutch angle shot, which was a new one for me. When watching a film I don’t think much of the shots as I do the transitions, because when you have a cool match cut it just makes you feel so much better. But knowing the camera angles usually helps me focus my attention to where the camera is/isn’t, and while I do see the camera, it would be helpful to know beforehand so I could prepare. Especially now that I’m dong vmd for imaginarium, knowing these shots can help me elevate the video even more by having more diverse shots.
