How the Cast of 2024's Best Vampire Thriller Dealt with the Movie's Buckets of Blood
www.inverse.com: The production team behind such hits as Ready Or Not and the Scream reboot have an affinity for gore. Blood, guts, and exploding heads are par the course in their filmography — but their latest project, Abigail, might take things a step further.

Every production has something that makes the production more challenging and in this case, that happens to be the blood. I’ve never really thought about what must go into creating a production like this with so many practical effects but with a production of this scale, it doesn’t surprise me that there are entire teams dedicated to dealing with the blood in this movie. As someone studying production management, this of course makes me think about how many other factors have to be taken into account when wanting this much gore. How much labor and budget is spent on creating the blood? How many people need to be hired to clean the blood off of both the set and the actors after the scene is shot? And of course the stage manager in me is also wondering just how much time do the actors need to be given to get out of costume with this much blood on them.
