I love seeing people I know win awards. I’ve known and worked with Kimie Nishikawa since before the creation of dots Collective, and even then, she was wonderful to work with. I’m delighted to be able to follow her success in the industry; it is so well deserved. No surprise that Pam MacKinnon has won yet another award. I’m a big fan of her work, and as someone who has seen her in action, I’m not remotely surprised that she won an Obie Award for Sustained Achievement in Directing. Of course I can’t forget to mention the three USITT award winners from CMU: Susan Tsu, Grzegorz Labuda, and Xotchil Musser. Having seen both Grzegorz and Xotchil work, I know both of these awards are hard earned and well deserved. I can’t wait to see where their careers take them. And then Susan, while I haven’t really seen her work first hand, I’ve seen the students that she’s helped shape and the work they’ve created.
