After a Four-Year Hiatus, Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS Easter Bonnet Competition Will Return in April
www.broadwayworld.com: Across the country, bands of volunteers will once again fill theater lobbies starting tonight with iconic #Red Buckets in hand for the spring return of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS in-theater fundraising.

When I first started theater when I was younger Broadway cares equity fights age was one of the first fundraising events that I knew about. I remember going to see my first Broadway show at 10 years old and they were doing red bucket night. Broadway Cares it’s one of my favorite organizations just because of how much they do for the Broadway community. I also personally love the Easter bonnet competition. I’ve watched it online for so many years and I’m so excited it’s coming back. I feel like it’s important for this organization to go to Broadway shows and fundraisers because there’s all different ages in the audience. The fact that at 10 years old, I found out what this organization was I feel like it’s really important for a younger generation. One thing I didn’t know is that it stated in this article that last year they made $9 million to put towards medication and meals. I just feel like the Easter bonnet competition is very important because it’s a tradition that a lot of people know and it goes towards raising money for people with HIV and AIDS and other illnesses.
