I loved this as a reminder that you can have a family and be in this industry. I love that Sands was planning to prioritize his wife and kids and that their familial relationship was strong enough that she could then turn around and tell him he had to take the job. That is the kind of love and safety I think we all crave, especially while we try and balance it with the love and commitment to our craft. I wonder if as Sands reads the plays, his perspective on the character changes, or if the version of Shakespeare in &Juliet is so different (which I can say firsthand that it is) that there is a complete separation, not of art and artist, but of art and fictional representation of artist. I saw this show when it was at West End before it came to the states, and I would be highly interested in seeing it again, both because it is so good and because I want to see his interpretation of the character.
