The International Thespian Festival really hits home for me. I wasn’t able to go in person due to Covid but I competed there twice and my friends always went when it was in Nebraska. There is absolutely nothing like ITF. A bunch of high schools theatre kids, all in one place, for one week? It is basically chaos but in the best of ways. The shows sound good this year, with lots of variety. Sometimes a lot of the shows end up coming out of Kansas for some reason. It is exciting to have it back in person even though I think it technically was last year it certainly wasn’t in full swing. It is my hope that sometime soon the International Thespian Festival will be back to its full grandeur, and maybe this year will get close. I am thankful that despite all that has come in the way of this festival that the students and all of the adults supporting them have found a way to stay passionate.
