I am glad that agreements like this one continue to be made and updated as the world changes. It is important that everyone in the theater industry is able to have access to fair treatment and wages. Especially after the pandemic which hurt the industry and everyone in it very hard, it had been difficult for many people to survive. We need to be having discussions about wages, hours, and equitable treatment. I think that Actor’s Equity has been very good about making sure that the proper protections are in place so that these equitable practices are maintained. However, this means nothing if other groups and organizations are not willing to participate so the fact that Equity and LORT were able to meet and form an agreement is great news for everyone in the industry. As things continue to change, I hope that discussions continue to take place and people in this industry are protected.
