The New York Times: The adaptation’s producers, who include Steven Spielberg, announced Wednesday that they expect to bring the show to Broadway during the 2024-25 theater season. They said the musical will be directed by Susan Stroman, a five-time Tony winner whose latest endeavor, “New York, New York,” starts previews on Friday.

There is definitely a lot of excitement and buzz around this show's return to the limelight, with a talented cast and crew, including Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, Tony Award-winning choreographer Joshua Bergasse, and actress Katharine McPhee, who starred in the original television series which is very exciting. I have never seen the TV show on my own time but working in the theatre, have definitely run into a lot of people who absolutely adore the TV show and will be absolutely elated by the fact that it is being turned into an actual Broadway show. Additionally, the significance of the show's themes, which address the challenges and complexities of the entertainment industry, including the struggles of producing a successful Broadway show, the competition between artists and producers, and the impact of personal relationships on the creative process are very meta for the theatre crowd. Which is not entirely unique after the debut of “A Strange Loop”.
