Studio Ghibli's Theme Park is Finally Open

mymodernmet.com: After years of construction and some slight delays, Studio Ghibli's very own theme park is finally open to the public. Located about an hour away from Kyoto, in Nagakute City, the sprawling destination is built on the former site of the 2005 World EXPO.

I am glad that they have finally opened. I was excited to hear that this park was in the works when they announced it. I love that the co-founders son made a comment that he saw it and hoped that it would be more of a park than a theme park. I think that is a really beautiful sentiment. I think it’s great that they are charging for, what seems, to be an extremely affordable price. I look forward to seeing more photos and I hope that I can go to it someday, especially when they open the Kikis Delivery Service part. I loved that movie when I was a little girl and it would be so magical to be able to be immersed in that world as an adult. It kinda makes me wonder if there will be more “immersive sets” come about from other companies. Disney has taken out their little toon towns from their parks and that was one of my favorite parts.
