Through storytelling and shared leadership, Flying V makes safe space for nerds

DC Theater Arts: Spend a little time with the leadership team behind Flying V Theatre Company and you’ll come to the conclusion that every one of us has a little nerd inside. Flying V is where you can let that out.

Yeah this is really interesting. I had no idea that this company existed and to hear that they are in their eleventh year is exciting. I think that the three wings idea behind this company is really unique and I would like to go see one of their shows. Being a huge nerd myself, I think that this kind of theater and performance art should be done more as there is such a huge nerd and theater crossover and it’s not explored enough. It’s getting more and more recognized because of shows such as She Kills Monsters and The Twenty Sided Tavern but I think that branching out into other areas of the nerd realm like this company is doing is really important too. It was interesting to read that this company performs in person and online as things are accessible to people across the country. I also think that it’s interesting that they do traditional plays combined with experimental. Often you see companies just doing one or the other but the combination could make for some really cool experiences.
