Amazon’s Firm Order to Employees on ‘Melania’ Revealed

www.thedailybeast.com: Amazon did not allow talent to opt out of working on Melania for political reasons, a new report alleges. That order came straight from Amazon’s leadership, forcing studio staff to choose between working on an absurdly expensive documentary about Melania Trump or risk losing their jobs, three sources told The New York Times

Not a single piece of media I have seen reporting on the movie Melania has revealed anything positive about its production. It seems that, from not only this article but statistics surrounding the movie’s release and interviews about behind the scenes, the entire project was a huge upset. Before this article, I had not even realized that Amazon produced movies, let alone this movie. I hate to say it, but it does not surprise me that Amazon would threaten the livelihoods of their employees. This also feels like such a weird time for a documentary about Melania Trump to come out. I remember in 2016 there was a lot more interest in Melania’s experiences being married to Trump, but today the movie seems more like an effort to keep them liked by the media. The article mentions the heigh prices that were payed for advertising and the rights to the movie, which surprise me because I have only received the news that it was a flop.

I just commented on another article about the power of art in its purest form to send messages of all political variety. I also mentioned the Trump Administration making children's books to attempt to appeal to children. This is another example of that. I have actually a lot of respect for what Melania Trump as actually done. She's probably a whole lot better than her husband. But that being said. This movie isn't for her. It's another political stunt to get more people manipulated, and threatening to fire people for refusing to work on what is effectively political propaganda. Is not only definitely illegal, first amendment. But for sure represents the views that this movie is attempting to push onto people, and what purpose it serves. It's more than just a documentary. It's propaganda for the current power base. Which is another example of art being weaponized instead of used for what it should be used for.

I don’t think I have seen a single thing coming from a professional movie reviewer, not someone with just a truthsocial account, post anything good about this movie. It’s literally just an outfit of the day with Melania from what I’ve seen, nothing even close to seeming to cost 80 million, let alone paying Melania Trump 40 million of that budget. I think the fact that they did not allow employees avoid working on this project and calling it mandatory certainly shows through the film after reading all the reviews. If you put folks on a project they dont want to do, they’re not gonna care about it in the slightest, and you get, well, Melania. If people don’t want to work on a creative project, don’t force them to work on an 80 million dollar creative project, it will never in any world end well for either side. You’ll simply get demotivated people who think they don't have a say in their work.
