Sennheiser Launches DeviceHub Cloud-Based AV Platform
ProSoundWeb: Sennheiser has announced the launch of DeviceHub, cloud-based platform designed to provide centralized visibility and control of Sennheiser devices from anywhere in the world, and following internal testing and a private beta phase, the platform is now publicly available in beta, starting with support for TeamConnect Bar Solutions.

While this technology seems interesting I'm not sure how useful it will be to the live events space. Especially with the decision to make it cloud based rather than using local resources I'm skeptical about latency and reliability of the connection for any show critical configuration. I think that the primarily local configuration of Dante works far better for live events because you don't need to rely on the internet connection of the venue, only the local wiring. That being said, this seems more focused on the corporate side of AV tech, getting meeting rooms set up and administering campuses. From that perspective I think that the shift to the cloud makes sense for most non theatrical customers. Especially with IT departments increasingly working online and being expected to manage larger and larger areas it makes sense to set this system up in a way that it can be troubleshooted remotely.
