I love that the wizard of oz is such a hit phenomenon for it to gain a film based on the iconic shoes of the movie. The wizard of oz is truly a one of a kind film and it’s certainly made its place in movie culture both in the past and in the present, which makes sense since it was a one of a kind film( it is a bit said though that the movies production was quite exploitative and they really mistreated the actors especially Judy garland) the media that has come out for the wizard of oz has always been really popular the multiple spin offs, books, cameos and of course wicked, I think the modern media based on the original movie is what is keeping the original movie in the public eye that and wide sense of nostalgia for the film.
