Bad Bunny's Super Bowl stage creates "surreal journey" through Puerto Rico
www.dezeen.com: The celebratory, symbolic set design for Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime show allowed the artist to "make his comments in a way that felt elegant," according to its creative director Harriet Cuddeford.
Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, headlined the show during the 60th Super Bowl football game, which took place at Levi's Stadium in California on 8 February 2026.

I absolutely loved the Super Bowl halftime show this year! Every year they get better and better, and this year was definitely no exception! Bad Bunny and his creative team sent an incredibly important message that everyone needs to hear right now! The set significantly supported sending that message! Every inch of it was intentional and had meaning! Through the screen, you could feel the joy, pride, and culture overflowing on that field! I mean this is truly a feat. Because of the precious field below, the set has to be able to be broken up into small pieces. This also means no extensive use of stronger (but heavier) materials, like steel. This is extremely complicated, especially when trying to add in automated elements to the scenic design. I think it is really interesting that the scenic studio that did this also did the Grammys. I wonder if they stick just to live events, or if they do other things like theatre?
This performance was absolutely brilliant. The idea of telling a story of Latin people through a production like this is something I wish happened more. I love the intricate detail throughout the set that really provoked the idea of Puerto Rico and the current aspect of a castia or of a small block in New York. The fact that the design team went to Puerto Rico for inspiration definitely shows in their designs. Benito wanted to tell a story nd he did just that. With multiple aspects of Latin environments, it was no denying that most Latins who were watching connected not only to the music but also to the set and atmosphere as well. I also love the addition of the representation of countries at the end, along with the fight hate with love sign displayed throughout the stadium. Overall, the production was so successful in taking the audience on a journey.
This year’s superbowl halftime show was really quite excellent. The entire production, from the performance to the scenic design and other technical elements, contained meticulous attention to detail. In some ways, I think the storytelling element present in this year’s halftime show indicates a broader shift in direction in the concert touring industry. Concerts seem to be moving away from just a series of songs, albeit with a lot of production value and prowess, to story driven narratives derived from the songbooks of the artists. Concerts seem to be moving toward a more artistic performance, rather than raw spectacle. Another example of this I saw recently was Lady Gaga’s The Mayhem Ball, which has a distinctive storyline across its five acts. Like the halftime show, the production featured extensive scenic elements alongside all of the lighting and video spectacle we have come to expect from contemporary large scale arena concerts.
