I think it is a very important thing that unions and other large organizations are discussing AI so much even while it still has a lot of room to progress. I can definitely see the positives and negatives that are discussed in this article, and I think the line “I'm not happy about this, and yet I am comfortable with its inevitability" is extremely important because everyone needs to realize that AI is not going anywhere and will only continue to have the potential to be capable of even more complex tasks. The majority of the media coverage I have seen in the past few years regarding AI is about how wary we need to be of it and how it will take the jobs of writers, so I find it very interesting that IATSE is seeing its potential benefits and that it can actually create jobs.
