Google Wants to Help You Make a Video With AI

Lifehacker: AI video generators are nothing new in this artificial intelligence age: All one has to do is look at OpenAI's Sora announcement to see how pressing an issue these hyper-realistic yet totally false videos will be.

Like all other AI videos and AI generated things, I don’t like it, and I’m very much aware that everyone may have different feelings about it, but videos seem much more of a sensitive topics especially given current circumstances. I honestly don’t see how this can be useful, and why someone would use this to better articulate their ideas. Those who are new need to experience he whole process on their own to learn, and those who know how to do it doesn’t need it. Even with AI art, I don’t see how it can be useful to our society, and why we can’t just let humans do the work that we’ve been doing and enjoying, and not have AI barge in and ruin everything. I really want to know why people want to keep developing AI and its technology even with all the controversy and hate against it, but as the technology advances, I am curious to see where it will take us.

I can see both positives and negatives of this technology. I think something like this would be incredibly helpful to new video editors who don't have much of an idea of what they are doing, and being able to see some potential executions of their idea may give them good ideas on how to use different video editing tools and techniques. At the same time, however, it must be considered that it will not always be used like that. Many people may not care about the techniques, and instead only the quality of the final product, potentially taking a job from a video editor who has trained for years and is able to put much more humanity into a video than an AI bot ever could. It is quite scary to me how so many companies are making so many AI tools now that can do such a wide variety of tasks. It is just so prevalent and I know it will continue to increase from here so it is undoubtedly something that needs to be monitored very closely.
