Broadway's Best Unite with Shubert Foundation to Support Theatre in Our Schools

www.broadwayworld.com: Just last month, the best of Broadway came together for the The 10th annual 2024 Shubert Foundation High School Theatre Festival, at which more than 100 talented young NYC public school theatre artists stepped on a Broadway stage for the first time at the Winter Garden Theatre.

I had no idea something like this existed. When I was reading it I felt excitement but also a little bit of jealousy. This is one of those things that is a once in lifetime experience and I would have died if I got to participate in something like this. It is such an exciting opportunity especially for high school students so it makes me kinda sad that this only happens for New York schools and students. Like why not invite different students from all over the country. I understand that the Jimmys are a thing but with how they are structured it is so incredibly difficult and competitive to go. I really like the idea of an opportunity that is simply for education and inspiring students by exposing them to a broadway level stage and production. I agree with the quote that it is important to bring theater to New York schools but I think that it is important to bring theater to all schools not those just in New York.
