variety.com: As the opening sequence of Sofia Coppola‘s biographical drama “Priscilla” unfolds, viewers meet a 14-year-old Priscilla Beaulieu (Cailee Spaeny) in 1959 West Germany to the tune of the Ramones’ 1980 hit “Baby, I Love You.”

I have not heard of Priscilla yet, and I had no idea a movie like this was being made. I assumed that after the making of Elvis, the Oscar award-winning film, there would not be another Elvis related movie coming out anytime soon. However, this film definitely seems interesting, and I might even consider going to the movie theater to see it. I do wonder why they were unable to get any rights to the Elvis songs, and I also wonder how the addition of Elvis’ music would change the film. I do think that it is quite exciting to play around with the time period and have music that kind of pushes those boundaries. I do not think that everything in a period piece has to be accurate to the time. When done in a right, careful way, using pieces from different time periods can really elevate the film to be a beautiful piece of art. Reading this article makes me really excited for this film, and I can’t wait to see its fun play with music.

I haven't heard any press for this movie Priscilla yet, it sounds a bit interesting, I am not a huge Elvis Fan but I can appreciate what he has done(in some regards). It seems like a classic Romantic/ drama film. I don’t really understand why they cannot attain the songs for the movie because although I have no idea what the movie is really about I think a hard-hitting Elvis song at the end of the movie would be quite impactful. I assume some people would be waiting for this moment in the whole movie. Musical scores are one of the most crucial parts of a movie to me, music sets the mood of a scene and tells a story. Video footage is powerful and can change people, but when accompanied by sounds and music it can transform into something even stronger and mold into a real message that people can interpret.
