Arena Stage’s new leader braces for the challenges of a leaner time

Having grown up in DC I have seen many shows at Arena Stage, and I member of my family actually used to be the board president there. I often drive by the theater late at night and marvel at its beauty, something that was touched on in the article. Something about the architecture, with all the white walls and windows, just makes me feel joy and I know that there are great things going on in that building. Hana Sharif seems like a great leader, even from the brief description of her, and I hope she is very successful in her new position. I liked how the article went into depth on potential next steps for Arena Stage to take, and I'm curious to see where they go next. I also loved how Sharif said at 19 that she would run Arena Stage one day. Having strong dreams and sticking to them is an amazing thing, and being able to achieve them is even better.
