My dream attraction for Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry Farm
attractionsmagazine.com: In 1983, Knott’s Berry Farm added Camp Snoopy to their list of theme park lands. This gave The Peanuts gang a permanent home in the park. This themed area is the perfect place to introduce young kids to the theme park experience. But for a long time, I’ve dreamed of one thing being added to the land that I believe would be a game changer.

This article was very heart warming. I can still remember the childlike wonder I had from going to Diseny world in fourth grade. Moments like these are things that stick with you as a child. The way the article describes this ‘attraction’ is almost like a theater set to me. It is transforming a space based on charcters and story. It tells a story to the people who go to the Berry farm. Somethign from my childhood that I will never forget is the Its a Small world after all theme song and experience at Disney world. It was something so real to me as a child and spoke to me with the characters and its ability to be so believable. I still think about how I felt when the music began and lights came on and shown on the characters painted faces. I think these kind of installations are so important they can inspire creativity in youth and spark ideas and not only that but just fun.
I found this article very sweet, how the writer loves the land so much they are willing to invest time to write an article to ask for a new attraction. While I do not know all that much about Knotts Berry Farm’s Camp Snoopy, it sounds like something I would have loved when I was little. I have personally always loved the peanuts series, not quite as much as my brother but enough. Watching the peanut shorts around the holidays was always a tradition in my house, one that I look back on with fondness. One day I would like to go and experience Camp Snoopy although it does sound like it is geared towards kids rather than the general public. I agree with the author that it would be cool to add a dark ride to the park. As a Disney kid I have a great fondness for those rides and think that it would with the right design be a great addition to this attraction.
I loveee Knott's Berry Farm. I grew up a 30 min drive away so it was basically my Kennywood. I've been so many times and for all the seasonal occasions, so this is a theme park that I hold very dear and close to my heart. I was so happy to see an article on Knott's available today. The Camp Snoopy area that the article talks about is the dedicated kids area. I thought that the dark ride idea is super cool, but am a little thrown off by the name. I think that having a ride specifically for all the seasonal episodes of the peanuts would be a very nice tribute, but the name dark ride honestly seems a little scary, especially for something going in the kids area. During Knott's Scary Farm, they already do an array of scary "dark" things that honestly I still have nightmares about, so I wonder what DePaoli meant by this.
