What to Know About YouTube's Pop Star AI Voice Clone Software

This is a worrisome development for artists, in my opinion. Although it says the artists signed over their songs, the companies are often the ones who truly own the rights. What unfortunately happens all too often is that companies take advantage of young stars and those singers lose more freedom than they expect or even realize. This development seems to be opening the door even wider for fake songs to be created using these artists' voices when in reality they had nothing to do with it. Imagine Demi Lovato hears an entirely inappropriate song she supposedly sang, only to find out some random person created it using AI. It could be very harmful to some folks' careers. The article also mentions that AI can "...make it even harder for real musicians to break through the noise." This development in AI makes it even more difficult to make a name for yourself in an industry that is already so exclusive.
