One theater’s solution to pandemic doldrums: Go smaller
Datebook: After 43 years, Theatre Rhinoceros is home.
For the last four decades, the company — billed as the nation’s longest-running queer theater — had performed in an old Victorian, a warehouse and a Geary Street storefront, in addition to conventional theaters. It was most recently located in San Francisco’s Jackson Square, but “then somebody said we should check out the Castro,” Executive Artistic Director John Fisher told the audience seated for “Group Therapy” on Saturday, Nov. 18.
