Vampiric Clubwear, Costumes and 'What We Do in the Shadows'
The Art of Costume: Just when you think the What We Do in the Shadows costumes couldn’t get better, Nadja (Natasia Demetriou) opens up her hot-new vampire club, Nadja’s. Once the season ended, I knew I had to speak with Emmy award-winning costume designer Laura Montgomery about What We Do in the Shadows clubwear costumes and the vampire’s dive into totally normal human clubwear.

As a big fan of the show “What We Do in the Shadows” I love to see how it comes together. To me the costumes in the show are a big part of it as well. For example, the way that Nadja is so extravagant and over the top. It is obvious she has a lot of thought in dress. As shown by the historical, gothic, femme fatale references. I think it is so nice that the aesthetic of the show lends itself to so much creative liberty. Because the show is set in the present time but centers immortal beings stuck in the past. For this season of “What We Do in the Shadows” Nadja has opened an intense, awesome, spectacular vampiric nightclub. So the costumes for the show increased in extravagancy. In the article we see Nadja’s red rhinestone covered double top-hat hat. As well as her red gloves with black fingernails attached.
