Theater Communications Group Selects Pittsburgh for In-Person 2022 Conference
Pittsburgh in the Round: Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre and the publisher of American Theatre, has announced that the 32nd annual TCG National Conference will take place in Pittsburgh at the Westin Hotel from June 16 to 18, 2022.

It is really exciting they are coming to Pittsburgh. Although they did mention that it has brought in over a thousand people to cities that it was sent in previously. The article didn’t mention any Covid precautions that would be taking place for the event, except that there would be “online access”. To be honest I knew the American Theatre but I didn’t know this group was responsible for the periodical. I find it interesting that they said that Carnegie Mellon University was helping to plan the conference but I don’t believe any information has been sent out or announced to the students that our school is involved. I wonder if there will be any opportunities for students in the School of Drama to be involved in the conference besides attending because you are a member? I find it interesting that they commented that it would be good to take place in Pittsburgh because of their focus on “racial justice and climate action” when there seem to be not a ton of advances in those areas in this city.
