From this quick glimpse, one can already gain excitement for the new head of Point Park's and Pittsburgh Playhouse's leadership. It's awesome to see a person of color taking on this role, especially because the article mentions that the faculty he's leading is a diverse group. Being able to communicate effectively with the people you are leading is an essential skill, especially in the arts where our medium is all about communication. Diversity in identity, but also diversity in experience because his work is not limited to live theatre. I was also excited to read his goal of reaching out into the community and collaborating with other arts organizations. I think this is a really underutilized resource for many universities, because we can really learn a lot when we step out of our bubble. It's cool that the enrollment has also gone up already and I'd be interested to see what specifically led to that.
