This is wild. To think that at some point I have walked in the same place as these alumni is something that I do not hold lightly. Seeing these alumni be so successful at the Tonys has reignited a fire inside of me. At almost halfway through my first of eight semesters, I am exhausted. Part of me wants to stop so that I can catch my breath just for one moment. But the Tonys served as a reminder that the people who attend school here are destined to do great things. I am striving to be one of those people and that takes hard work. While I will never win a Tony for my work in stage management I do hope to one day have the honor to work on a show that does win such an award. If I ever do get an opportunity to give a speech for a Tony I do have to remember to mention my high school director’s name because she has vowed to get the autograph of any students who do win and mention her tattooed on her. And that is a hard deal to pass on.
