Woodstock 50 Applies for Vernon Downs Permit Yet Again
Variety: For better or worse, Woodstock 50 isn’t giving up on Vernon Downs, despite being rejected twice already: The producers have applied for another permit to hold the festival at Vernon Downs, according to the Utica Observer Dispatch.
Overall I think that Woodstock 50 was set up for failure from the start. They are trying to recreate arguably the best and most iconic music festival ever but are ultimately failing. First, most of the various artists signed on are not from the era of the original Woodstock which means that many of the original attendees have no desire to attend and while many Millennials and Gen zs appreciate the music from the time billing Miley Cirus (who is not even that popular anymore) as a performer at Woodstock has little effect of invoking any sort of nostalgia. The awful planning abilities also attribute to the inevitable failure, even as the stated date is approaching there isn't even a venue. I think that the planners would be better of having their own unique music festival without trying to embody Woodstock and then maybe they would be able to plan it better. Kaisa
