I was super excited to find this article because I love events! I definitely think the suggestions were a mixture of run of the mill and new and exciting! As for task assignment and communication platforms, I really do love Slack. It is a great way to communicate with multiple teams on multiple projects throughout your day. What I find that it lacks is that task assignment feature because it never really has a "notepad"-esque feature where you can write out assignments to do. I had never heard of social tables but did find it to be pretty cool. it seems like a fairly intuitive layout app for people who perhaps don't need or want to get into the nitty gritty of a CAD program. Additionally, EventBrite looked very helpful. It seems like is for ticketed events where you'd clearly be making money from the event rather than perhaps a corporate gathering or free non-profit event.
