MISS SAIGON Tour Cast Speaks About Representation in Theatre
www.broadwayworld.com: The heat is on because cast members from the national tour of Miss Saigon, including Emily Bautista, Christine Bunuan, and Red Concepción, sat down with FilAm Arts and One Down Media to speak about representation in the performing arts and how their culture relates to their careers on stage.

I really enjoyed this video because as an Asian American I think that it is of immense importance to have representation in theater both on stage and off. Having a show like Ms. Saigon is unique because many shows don't have any Asian characters at all while this one has exponentially more. It is important to encourage all types of people to do theater and this show really speaks to Asian Americans who might be seeing themselves on stage for the first time. Not only having Asian Characters on stage but having a show that correctly represents their culture is also very important because having a show with stereotypical or incorrectly represented groups of people does significantly more harm than good.
