It's very interesting to see the wide variety of shows in the upcoming Broadway Season. While some of them are your average Broadway musical or play the majority hold some sort of deeper message or social commentary speaking to the turbulent times we live in. I also find it interesting that there are multiple shows based on or utilizing various musicians music. While I am not fully educated on the content of the shows or aware of most of them until I am looking forward to following them especially because I was not particularly thrilled with last season.

I think that the Darren Brown show is interesting because it's not that common that a magic show opens on broadway. I wonder if it would draw in audiences that would not usually see a broadway show. I also think that the Tina Turner musical should be interesting as in the past few years, there have been a lot of jukebox musicals that have opened with music from female singers (Cher, Donna Summer, and now Tina Turner). I wonder how this will sell compared to these other musicals. Another jukebox musical that it opening, Jagged Little Pill, seems like it would be a good musical as it has some pretty good music in it. I also wonder if the West Side Story revival will be different from the original show or it they will make it a little more modern (kind of like what Oklahoma did).
