Variety: The Producers Guild of America has issued its “Anti-Sexual Harassment Guidelines” to its 8,200 members in the wake of expelling Harvey Weinstein from its ranks.
The guidelines, issued Friday on the day before the PGA’s awards show, are the initial recommendations from the PGA’s Anti-Sexual Harassment Task Force, which was created last October after the start of the massive sexual harassment scandal that engulfed Hollywood. The PGA’s board of directors ratified the guidelines unanimously this week.

I actually think this article was pretty well-written and puts forth some good effort towards guidelines that could really help this industry move forward when it comes to harassment. The one guideline I think is really important is having people, specified as different genders if possible, that members of the cast and crew can approach should they be having issues with harassment. Reporting to someone of power as someone very low on the food chain can be very daunting, so having representatives of peers could be a great step to help close that power gap. I also really like how this article emphasis that producers are often those that set the tone for a workplace, and advises them to lead by example in order to help combat harassment as well. I think guidelines like this can help make people in positions of power more aware of the actions and how they can affect those around them and also the entire workplace environemnt.
