I just really can’t handle stories like this. I don’t understand how one man can go to such lengths and be so inappropriate with so many women and not get booted after the multitude of complaints. I know people always say, even in this article, “he was powerful, I want him to produce my work.” But, how could anyone ever think that someone who harasses you sexually would ever respect you enough to produce your work or do business with you? I would like to think that these women, and women everywhere, can recognize and act upon unruly and inappropriate behavior in a mature and derisive way, but I have never been in this kind of situation at work and cannot speak to exactly what they are thinking. It would definitely help if all of the affected women would have reported the misconduct together because then the board could see multiple incidents at a time and steps could have been skipped and Mr. Edelstein could be gotten rid of sooner.
