8 Things Considered at NAMM 2018

The Pro Audio Files: The NAMM Show this year was spectacular and exhaustive as usual. A generally bewildering array of everything you can imagine including the very strange interspecies mating of a wind and brass instrument as seen below.

Again I find myself writing about music tech. Its just something that is so cool to me. The integration of technology and music makes a collaborative workspace where the leading professionals in music can come together with the leading professionals in the technical industry and create the amazing love child of art and science that we are seeing start to emerge. The integration of technology into the music production industry to an increasing scale every year is going to change the way that we produce ad make music. The music industry is a great example where intelligent environments and tools are being used in increasing amounts to help the user and adapt to the users needs and not the user adapting and being forced to change their ways for new technologies. I think that is what sets apart good and bad tools. If the tool helps the users do their job better while not forcing them to change completely then I think it is a good tool and it has succeeded in its purposes.
