Kim Weglin & Ryan Jenks Wedding: Must-See Photos & Full Story

collegecandy.com: Couples are getting more and more creative in picking out a wedding venue. Gone are the traditional days when most couples would get hitched at a church, in a backyard or at a family’s home.

Couples are upping the ante and this couple will be hard to beat. They said “I do” on a literal rope net. You know, a net made out of ropes. Oh, and it was suspended above a canyon.

The photos from this wedding are absolutely beautiful. They make this wedding look incredibly special, as it should be. I can be a very old soul sometimes especially when it comes to traditions. For me personally, I would be so happy getting married in a church or a backyard. But I love that couples are personalizing their weddings to represent them and their relationships. The suspended colorful net 400 ft above the ground is such an amazing yet terrifying idea. Everything about it is so personal, from the best man weaving the net to the fact that they are daredevils who met at a highlining festival in Utah. I am curious about the process of how they were able to set up the net and what shoes, if any, were they wearing to walk and stand on it. I also am curious to know if all the family and friends were terrified of the idea or if they also liked to go out onto the net.

I adore the movement into creating life-marking events, especially weddings, following the essence of the people who are involved, not just going to traditional route for tradition’s sake. These images feel so free and full of love, and that is exactly what a wedding should be. The bride, groom, and entire wedding party look completely at peace and joyful on such a special day. It is also just absolutely wild to me that the net was woven by the best man. It made the whole thing even better that, not only were they getting married on a net, but their friends were performing aerial stunts, acro-yoga, flying overhead in paragliders, and playing instruments. The actual photography of the entire event is also stunning, in the perfect lighting, and does the entire event justice, in my opinion. I am excited to read in the future about more couples’ weddings in increasingly wilder and more unique settings.

This is actually insane. Wedding and wedding photos are on an entirely different level now a days in creative people are becoming more and more involved in creating truly spectacular moments for their special day. The images and memories that a thing like this would create are truly spectacular image. And it means something to the couple as well it makes sense having proposed on a net and then married I wish i could be apart of something that special. But I also know that is something that I would never have anything to do with. I am way to scared of heights and have way to many questions about how they set up this net in order to take these photos. Like how did they make sure to keep safety precautions in this instance. How were they able to walk on it without tripping over dresses or falling through the net without shoes. I know that this must have gone into great consideration in order to make a great day definitively great so that it didn't turn south and become a horrible memory.
