Merry-go-round of codependence

Chicago Reader: Domestic violence, suicide, bullying—Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II’s 1945 musical Carousel is as famous for its dark subject matter as its soaring score. (My high school graduation featured our school chorus singing “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” as I suspect many others have over the years.)
