The Next 4K Tiny Drone From DJI Fits in the Palm of Your Hand

gizmodo.com: Imagine a drone that’s no bigger than a small baby swallow (don’t dare ask me, “African or European?”). Chinese drone maker DJI (who’s also getting into e-bikes) may already have a super small, super cheap drone available, though not quite yet in the U.S. Based on one unboxing video of the rumored DJI Neo, the company’s new drone may also be extremely cheap and the best way to annoy neighbors on a budget.

The possibilities for a drone this small and lightweight are vast, and it’s amazing that this product could be available to the general public for such a low price. It’s really impressive that the drone can shoot in 4K at the size/weight that it is. I wonder if the length of video that it can store while in the air is relatively small, and/or if the battery life is relatively short; trying to imagine such a small drone capturing such high quality video for a long time is pretty hard, and I’d be interested in what those numbers look like. This would be great for people who want to get into drone videography at a beginner level due to the low cost as well as (seemingly) the relatively non-complex nature of this product; it seems to be pretty plug-and-play and doesn’t have too many features to navigate, partially due to its small size. Overall a very cool product!

The DJI Neo looks like a lightweight, power-packing, relatively cheap drone. The article claims some pretty outrageous numbers, considering the company’s current products, and even that of the wider market. That being said, it seems unconfirmed the exact potential of the product - it could very well be a much cheaper quality drone with more bells and whistles. ‘Leaks’ regarding technology are generally untrustworthy - companies, competing companies, and self-proclaimed tech experts? No, thanks! - but I’d like to be optimistic, since this company does seem consistently reliable with their quality, if a bit bulky. The DJI Neo could be great for the film world, being able to get good shots from tough angles and tight spaces that a more bulky drone may not. The same goes for light shows and live performances.

This drone seems to put great uses and possibilities right at the users' fingertips. With such a small size, it is easily portable and could be taken up mountains and on extraneous hikes to capture remarkable footage. It appears that it will be sold at a price that makes it relatively accessible to the average potential customer, so that people won't have to break the bank in order to get great shots. I think it will be really helpful for certain groups of people to be able to get their hands on this drone (literally). You could easily tuck it into your bag on the go to take cool shots of a group of people, or a spanning landscape, going up above the tress and seeing what's beyond. I am also really impressed that such a tiny camera can capture 4K videos. I would love to see the products that this drone can publish (and I hope to see it soon, given the upcoming release date this week.)

This was also me (I didn't realize I was on anonymous mode, even after I posted it).
