See inside the immersive Bluey experience opening in NYC

www.timeout.com: CAMP, the popular toy store at 110 5th Avenue by 16th Street, will once again transform into an exciting immersive experience for the little ones, this time paying homage to Bluey, the Australian preschool TV series about cute puppy Bluey Heeler and her family.

I love Bluey. I was Bluey for Halloween last year! He’s my little guy! ACTUALLY- she/her! This show is a crowd-pleaser for all ages. There are lessons intertwined within the lives of these darling little guys. I am now trying to plan a flight to CAMP, (amazing name,) and immerse myself in the wonder and majesty that is the Bluey universe. The Blueniverse, if you will. I think all of my problems would be solved if I too could play Keepy Uppy and Magic Asparagus in this beautiful place. There is a meet and greet at the end, and if I met Bluey and Bingo, I would probably be too stunned to even speak. They are iconic celebrities to me. THERE IS ALSO EXCLUSIVE MERCH! I must go. I am catching a plane to New York City as I type. Goodbye Pittsburgh, hello Blueniverse.

My little cousins introduce me to bluey and I have become very familiar with the show both do to them and analyzing the theme of certain episodes. This experience looks absolutely adorable and personally I would love to visit but I do not think I will make it to NYC in the time frame this exhibit is open. Looking at these images I am shocked at how well CAMP and BBC brought a cartoon to life. I am curious about how this exhibit will hold up to moth of little ones adding wear and tear while this event runs. I looked up pictures of the last two exhibits and was very surprised by how interesting they were. I love the idea of a hidden world behind a toy store and am excited that Bluey is the media CAMP decided to bring to life. I hope the parents, Kids and Bluey adults enjoy this experience to the fullest.

As a member of Generation Z, I grew up watching shows like, Dino Dan, Bubble Guppies, Peppa Pig, and Blues Clues. To this day, I have always wanted to live in Rebecca Rabbit’s house. Ever since I saw her animated borough, I knew that her house was my dream home. In recent years, I know that the Peppa Pig World of Play made a display where you can explore her house, and that would have made my whole childhood if I had been able to go live there or visit when I was younger (or even now to be honest). Seeing that the television show, Bluey, now has an interactive and life-size house for the young kids (and adults) of this generation to explore heals my inner child. I know being able to explore and play pretend will become a core memory for these young kids, and I hope that many people get to enjoy this exhibit. Even to this day, if I got to see Rebecca Rabbit’s house, my inner child would be filled with joy, bliss, and new core memories. I think that interactive and life-size exhibits are really important because they expose the younger generations to art, in ways that they might not ever recognize.

I love this! I love immersive experiences and I love that this is an immersive experience tailored specifically for kids; I can imagine going here as a kid and having it be a core memory that maybe leads me later on in life to feel inspired to create immersive experiences for other children or just other people. I experienced a really cool place when I was in like middle school and it made me want to work in immersive environments/experiences and now I do stuff in IDeATe at CMU for purposes that are related to that ish, so I love the idea of getting kids into these great places early to inspire them. I had never heard of CAMP before reading this article, but I also looked at their Encanto exhibit that they did in 2022 and it looks incredible; the lighting that is on their Encanto exhibit looks beautiful, and I feel like the Bluey one is also super cute but is less detail-oriented.
