This article was super interesting and I loved how much it talked about the history rooted in the text of the play and where it drew its inspiration from. this is an absolutely stacked team and although I'm not familiar with the text at all I would expect this production to be hi budget and high standard because of how many big names there are involved. I find it really awesome that they went to the place that inspired at all, and I'm sure that this excursion allowed both the cast and creative team to fully immerse their ideas and designs in the truth of the world of the play. Just reading this article makes me want to read the script, it sounds really interesting. This show opens very soon on broadway, and I am interested to read how it does!
Our Town has always stood as one of my favorite classic plays. I am personally very intrigued with the fact that the full company was able to visit New Hampshire considering the schedule many actors keep but am thrilled that this production of this opportunity as I think it will elevate Broadways new production of Our Town as a whole. With so much of Our Town as it is intended to be produced being pantomime or audio descriptions of places by the stage manager it is so important that the actors of our town have a clear idea of what the town in Our Town looks like and feels like. The details often needed to provide this level of imagery is often not found in pictures alone. I hope that this trip was not only a good exercise in imagery and an example of what Our Town's Town looks like now but was a good way for the company to get to know each other before they dive into rehearsals.
