Pittsburgh CLO’s “The Twenty-Sided Tavern” Opens Next Week
onStage Pittsburgh: The Twenty-Sided Tavern is promoted as an epic quest where the audience joins a troupe of adventurers on the journey of a lifetime. In this interactive performance, you choose the characters, the paths they take, and the journey’s outcome, all from the comfort of your seat. The story changes every night and is a fantastic mixture of laugh-out-loud comedy and a thrilling, electrifying narrative.

While I’m not personally a Dungeons and Dragons player, I know a large amount of people that are and would love this kind of event. I am slightly confused about whether the people on the poster are performing in the show or whether it is all audience members. If they are cast members, I am a little disappointed that more of them are not in costume; even something as small as elf ears really elevates the performance. It’s a fun idea to have a PG show followed by an M-rated show late at night, so people can choose the kind of night they want to have. It was also a smart idea to have the phone interaction element, so people will not get bored if they are not as directly involved in the action of the story. The article does not mention whether there are drinks/food being served, but this seems like the kind of show that should.
