As mentioned before, I am a huge fan of Robe fixtures. I think their design, innovation, and overall reliability is something to be admired. So, when I saw this article I got pretty excited that they were showcasing five new fixtures at Prolight 2022. I was excited to see that Robe is releasing more Beam fixtures, like the new iBeam 250. I hope that this fixture, like many of other Robe fixtures, will be widely accepted into the concert world and used often. I was also surprised to see a development on their Spikie fixture, which was very successful the first go around. In theory, they really didn’t need to improve on this fixture but the fact that they took the initiative to do so says a lot about their drive as a company. My only worry with their releasing of fixtures based on past ones, is that companies may want to replace their inventory with the newer style and the older ones will be left to collect dust if they are not passed down.
