This is a really interesting approach to DEI work. Just from the article title I thought that this would are a really bad idea. Combining the challenges and problems in five separate organizations into one role would put way too much pressure on the singular person to be leading them all in these efforts. After reading the article I still have some of the same concerns, however, it helps to know that these organizations have been working together in the past and that they are all seeing eye to eye on goals when it comes to the DEI work. If all of these organizations were coming from entirely different places and going in entirely different directions it would definitely not work. But, if they are all working towards the collective goal, then it might. Combining forces is also a great way to help institute DEI work in artistic organizations that might not have the biggest budgets in an effective way that won't be hindered by any one organizations financial capabilities.
