Creative Lab purchases Ayrton Mistrals
LightSoundJournal.com: Creative Lab purchases Ayrton Mistrals and puts them to work on Montreal Canadiens’ “Les Samedis FANatiques” and GM Paillé Corporate Event
Laval, Québec-based Creative Lab, which creates lighting and visual installations of all kinds, has invested in 24 Ayrton Mistral-TC LED spot moving lights. The new fixtures have already been put to work on the Montreal Canadiens’ “Samedis FANatiques” (“FANatic Saturdays”) pre-game show and on a glitzy auto dealership event.

I have been following Ayrton Lighting for a little while now, and I really and surprised that they are not used more often in professional settings. They have an incredibly sleek design and very unique gobos that are applicable in all uses. You rarely hear about them being used on Broadway, as most designers have found their favorite fixtures to be either Martin or Vari*Lite. I think the first time I hear about them being used professionally was during “Beetlejuice the Musical” under lighting designer Kenneth Posner, then later the Ayrton MagicDots being used in “Six” and both are incredibly stunning applications of Ayrton Fixtures. After looking up pictures of “Les Samedis FANatiques” I was very pleased to see a wide application of the fixtures, taking advantage of their rich color mixing and plethora of patterns. In the future, I hope to see Ayrton come into the more professional world and become a universal company to many designers.
