I! Love! Meowwolf! There’s a very special type of company that can take on the task of huge interactive installations that are sustainably made, help the community, and garner respect, profit, and international recognition. In fact, I’d argue there’s just one. Having been to Omega Mart, I think it’s an incredible and un-imitable undertaking by the Meowwolf Team. There are so so many ways to experience it, and every single part of the experience is curated impeccably- from the dining hall to the gift shop. Meowwolf is a company that ten years ago, would have never been expected to take off. It doesn’t sound like it could succeed- it’s goals are too lofty, it’s market is too niche, it’s intentions are too good. And yet, the perfect cocktail that is Meowwolf has superceded expectations ten fold. Hopefully, they’ll serve as an example for more ambitious art collectives in the future.

I want nothing more than to see a Meow Wolf exhibition… I have been saying it for a few years now. I should just get in a car and drive to Denver or Las Vegas. Every time I see an article or post about the company on social media it makes me want to see an instillation even more. I am really drawn to the mission and methods the company takes to uphold their vision despite their expansion. I appreciate that so far we have seen that the company holds true to its core, despite their popularity. I really hope that with this success they can continue to expand and expose more people to interactive and immersive arts. Every time I say I’m interested in doing instillation work, someone asks if I have seen Meow Wolf and I always say, not yet. That being said if anyone wants to go on a Meow Wolf road trip, you know who to talk to.
