www.distractify.com: Much like another series that celebrates the power of female friendship and individuality (Sex and the City), the Hulu series Dollface does so in a big way through fashion. The four main ladies — Jules Wiley (Kat Dennings), Madison Maxwell (Brenda Song), Izzy Levine (Esther Povitsky), and Stella Cole (Shay Mitchell) — all have their own unique sense of style that serves as a reflection of their character and how they fit into the group.

Sustainability in production is so rare! Recently I was watching a video about the costume design of Euphoria, and it was kind of wild. Each one of the characters was regularly wearing some of the most expensive clothes I had ever seen regardless of the character’s canonical access to wealth. What really hit me was Rue wearing a $150 oversized t-shirt while being a drug addict living in, at most, an upper-middle-class situation. While I think the concept of sustainability in this article is a little bit watered down because they are still buying pieces from larger brands, I like that the designer sourced from ethically made brands and resold vintage pieces. It feels like the designer decided that affordable and sustainable are synonymous, but I think the usage of resold pieces is getting there. I also like that they are not putting every actor in an expensive designer. Of course, media is a place for fantasy where audiences want to see luxury in everyday characters, but the euphoria video really put a sour taste in my mouth.
