In Profile: Motor Stage Automation

TPi: Despite the uncertain time for the live industry, Danish entrepreneur, Christian Vigso saw the global pandemic as an opportunity to diversify his offering for the events market. With the help of business partner and automation specialist, Blake McNally, the duo presented Motor Stage Automation. From its Denmark HQ, Motor Stage Automation offers creation, concept development, mechanical engineering, electrical technical developments and specifically customised, made-to-order solutions, together with electrical technical developments.

It will be interesting to see at the end of COVID if there will be a standard job interview question like “What was your biggest accomplishment during the pandemic?” The goal of course is to see if the person is self motivated and what they’re willing to do in their free time. With the significant amount of dark time during the last year, they certainly saw an opportunity to research and design something new when they don’t have the time constraints normally afforded by an ever-evolving and deadline driven industry. It’s interesting that they met via Linkedin, which is funny to me because I of course have my obligatory linkedin profile, but it almost seems useless because there isn’t some surplus of jobs where employers are actively seeking people. Maybe someday the stars will align and I will be offered a job because of my linkedin profile, but my guess is it’s just a way to double check and see some more information about someone you’re interested in hiring where they can put more than on their resume.
