World-class circus artists launch Ignite fest in the desert outside Las Vegas
Las Vegas Weekly: Eager performers gather in a southwest Valley rehearsal space on a Thursday in early April. They remove their shoes to walk on floors padded for acrobats. They stretch and lounge, waiting their turn to dance or sing or make jokes.

This is very exciting to me because Cirque du Solei shut down their theater permanently during the pandemic due to bankruptcy. There are so many talented acrobats with no job so this is a perfect solution. Because of social distancing, they decided yo have ot outside. The article meantioned that the audience will be camping which I think is super cool. I liked the slogan "disconnect to reconnect" when they talked about their inspiration. Utll not only help the artists and audience connect, but help all of them connect with nature
I've never been to a circus besides Cirque du Soleil so it's interesting to see a new giant circus related event coming to Vegas. Given that many of the performers came from Cirque it's nice to see them being provided for. When Cirque went bankrupt and let go all their non-union staff it was concerning how many performers were out of a job. I'm curious to see if this new festival is going to rival Cirque's new comeback as they are also set to open in Vegas. I would love to go attend Ignite Fest if school would be over by then. Hopefully, it will go well and I'll be able to see if it's worth attending in future years. I do worry that the festival will only amount to a pale comparison to Cirque shows given that the founder was a creative there and many of the performers were past employees. But I'm vehemently rooting for their success.
