This is the type of stuff that excites me about media design, not just putting projectors onto surfaces. When you are able to incorporate layers into the visual storytelling, layers that excite and surprise the audience and reveal deeper intentions to the storytelling, it makes the experience that much richer for the actors and audience. I honestly haven't really gone looking for zoom theatre that much since I don't want to be on Zoom any more than I possibly have to, but a year in, it would be interesting to know just how good some people have gotten at harnessing the platform to make it do interesting things for the sake of theatre and art. One line that stuck with me was the one about a national tragedy being the only thing that creates a community these days, which is really sad to think about but also very true. It's a silver lining, but, as the author says, it's also too late.
