This seems like such an exciting new piece in the works and sounds like it has a lot of potential! The idea of turning a book into a musical seems to be happening a decent amount these days, but this I have never heard of The Interesting like I have The Outsiders. Not saying The Outsiders is bad in anyway( I love that show) but it just is not as well known as the Outsiders. I am sure that it will be great and make ticket sales in California not inly because it is based on a book, but because of the people associated with the show's writing. With people like Sara Bareilles, Micheal Arden, and Sarah Ruhl the show will be while written. These people's reputation will create ticket sales for the show. I am a big fan of Sara Bareilles work, and want to see what she contributed to this new work.

This is so exciting! I personally love many of the works Sara Bareilles and Michael Arden have been a part of, so I cannot wait to see what comes of this project. I’m genuinely curious if I should make it out to Berkeley myself to find out. I think to learn more I’ll read The Interestings, as Sara Bareilles really compliments it in this article. It would be my introduction to Sarah Ruhl’s works, even though she apparently has written many popular plays that I haven’t read or seen yet. I think it’s really great that she’s seeing a work being produced through a new avenue, which emphasizes how great of a writer she must be. Sara Bareilles and Michael Arden are also incredible in their respective roles, so I know they’re going to create something really exciting. I hope it finds its way to the east coast soon, so I don’t have to travel too far to see it!

I haven't heard of the book this musical is based on, but I have definitely heard of Sara Bareilles. One of the musical soundtracks I grew up listening to was the waitress soundtrack, what’s inside in particular is a song greatly loved by my family. I am excited to see where this project goes; I am a big fan of shows that have a larger main cast. Musicals portraying dynamics between a friend group are always interesting as they provide chances for duets and songs with different energies depending on the combination of main characters. I haven't heard of Sarah Rhul’s work apart from Eurydice. I think that it’s also important that Wolitzer will be a part of the process. I have found that media adapted from books are always improved by having the author of the books a part of the creative process. The whole creative team seems like it will be a good combination of people to create a compelling musical.
